Telangana Deputy Chief Minkister Bhatti Vikramarka
Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has reprimanded opposition parties for indulging in senseless criticism against the State government through the social media.
"They are scared to meet people as they fear that people will confront them for their wrongdoings and consequences," Bhatti said.
Speaking to the media here on Monday, the Deputy Chief Minister alleged that BRS MLAs KT Rama Rao and Harish Rao were literally hanging on by Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp forwards for their political survival and indulging in meaningless criticism.
"The State government effectively tackled the natural calamity and flood situation in Telangana without loss of life," Bhatti said.
Earlier, the Deputy Chief Minister along with Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao participated in a programme to mark the death anniversary of late chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy at the district Congress party office and paid rich tributes to him.
Observing that the Opposition has no work, he said it is better for people to ignore their meaningless criticism.
Right from Chief Minister to MLA, everyone was with people in the wake of heavy rains, supervising rescue and relief measures minute to minute. That was why the major calamity could be overcome, he pointed out.
"Under the previous BRS rule, small rain was enough to inundate twin cities, but now Hyderabad is safe even after heavy downpour due to constitution of the HYDRA as it is removing encroachments in tanks and taking measures for protection of tanks," Bhatti said.
The Deputy Chief Minister specially appreciated the officers and staff of the electricity department for going beyond the call of duty.
Bhatti Vikramarka further stated that government is supplying essential commodities immediately to all those displaced due to floods caused by heavy rains.
"Once the floods are receded, the government will get the loss and damage due to floods estimated and help the affected people," he added.
